Your account is managed based on the momentum principle, using clear, fixed rules. On the first day of each month, the stocks with the strongest and weakest momentum are identified. The eight stocks in your portfolio are sold. Eight new positions are opened. Given that the mini commissions are so small, this has virtually no impact on returns. It is necessary because positions must be equally weighted at the beginning of the month. It is quite possible that one or more stocks will remain in the portfolio for months. However, at the beginning of each month, the positions are always equally weighted.
